When a loved one is entrusted to a death-care professional, their care extends beyond embalming and dressing. It includes the details that make their final presentation recognizable, familiar, and reflective of who they were in life.
For professionals serving families with textured hair, developing the knowledge and skills to properly care textured hair is an important part of culturally responsive care. Cultural competence requires both awareness and the practical skills to honor each person's unique needs.
This immersive, 8-hour in-person experience combines classroom theory, demonstrations, hands-on practice, professional tools, and real-world death-care application.
